August Orientation
August Orientations concentrate?primarily on issues of adjustment and the development of skills, both of which are critical to success in college. August Orientation (Aug-O) is mandatory for all new first-year and transfer students.?Pre-Orientation programs are optional but highly recommended.

Aug-O activities will offer you an opportunity to get to know your fellow students, to learn more about living and learning at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########, and to have a lot of fun.?
During this time, you will attend various programs and activities designed to familiarize you with 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########, the members of your class, and issues concerning the adjustment to college life. While activities will be taking place throughout move-in day, the required event for entering first-year students to attend is the “Assembly of Incoming Students,” which begins at 6 p.m. The Induction Ceremony will follow immediately, beginning at 7 p.m.?After the ceremonial Induction of the class, parents depart, and new students immediately begin their orientation sessions.

An introduction for incoming students and their parents to the Academic Resource Center’s programs and services for students with disabilities as well as other campus-wide academic resources. |

Induction Ceremony for the Class of 2026 |
Each year, 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### welcomes the newest members of its student community at the Induction Ceremony. As part of this ceremony, held outdoors on the Reese~Shackelford Common, members of the faculty and staff greet and applaud the new class, which processes along Chapel Walk before arriving at the Common. The president formally welcomes the new class with a charge to excellence and service over the next four years. In addition to the president, speakers include the student body president of the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Campus Governance Association, the chair of the faculty, and the vice-president of Institutional Advancement. |
