Michael Vawter '14 leads Robot Academy to new heights
Since he was a young boy, Michael Vawter ‘14 has been active with Lego robotics. And he’s pretty good at it, his team won the 2005 international FIRST Lego League robotics championship.
Now Vawter, who majored in psychology and currently is pursuing an MBA, is taking things to a whole new level.
His Westerville, Ohio-based Robot Academy is going global with a series of videos designed to lead viewers through the necessary steps to build their own robots.
In an article by Debbie Gillum ‘14, Vawter says “I realized I knew all of this information about robotics and that there was a huge population of kids who wanted to get involved in Lego robots but didn’t know how,” he said. “I saw kids who would buy the $300 Lego robotics kit but then it would just sit on their shelf because they didn’t know how to use it.”
