This film inventively combines animation with historical footage to tell the story of the hidden journey of Naila Ayesh in the 1987 nonviolent Palestinian uprising known as the First Intifada. Faced with the difficult choice between freedom or family, Naila was able to embrace both by joining a underground network of Palestinian women who led the movement that placed this conflict on the world stage. Moderated by Professor Taku Suzuki and Intl Studies Fellow Lex Grimm, this documentary is 76 minutes long. Directed by Julia Bacha, this film debuted in 2017.
