Elena Meth is selected as Recent Student Trustee

The 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### University Board of Trustees has elected Elena Meth ’19 to serve as Recent Student Trustee. Meth, a native of Pittsburgh, graduated from 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### in May with bachelor’s degrees in political science and environmental studies. She served in several student organizations at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########, including as president, and education and outreach chair of SHARE (Sexual Harassment and Assault Education), 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Community Government Association policy chair, and co-president of 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Coalition for Sexual Respect. Meth also has served in leadership roles with the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Community Association and 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Outdoor Orientation. She is a certified OhioHealth Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate and a certified mediator. Meth was awarded the Distinguished Leadership Award and the President’s Medal, the highest recognition the college gives to a current student, awarding achievement in academics, service, athletics, and leadership. 

The 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Board of Trustees consists of thirty-seven members plus the president of the university. Two of the Trustee positions are reserved for recent students who are asked to maintain a connection with and represent the current student body. Each year, a new Recent Student Trustee is selected from the graduating senior class to serve a two-year term. Thus, there is always one new and one experienced Recent Student Trustee, and the two have an opportunity to work together to bring helpful perspectives to the work of the Board.
