Bandwidth Management
Bandwidth is a technical term for network capacity. Every network has limits on its capacity, especially where the local network connects to the Internet. A person who consumes a disproportionate amount of bandwidth and prevents other people from using network services is a bandwidth hog.
It is possible for even a few users to completely consume the network resources. The use of streaming media programs can make you a bandwidth hog. These programs can very easily consume all of the bandwidth on 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########'s connection to the Internet. The university maintains technical controls, such as firewalls and traffic shapers, to limit this type of abuse. The current controls prevent the saturation of the Internet connection and enable us to more equitably share bandwidth.
Any use of 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########'s network for commercial purposes, violation of copyright law, or other violation of the Acceptable Use Policy will result in immediate termination of off-campus access to the student's server for the remainder of the academic year.
