Coach Phil Torrens passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 76. Since that time, we have heard from countless individuals whose lives he touched expressing condolences to the family and sharing stories about his impact as a coach and mentor.

A Celebration of Life in Memory of Coach Phil Torrens
Saturday, July 15 – Granville, Ohio
- 10 a.m. – Memorial Run/Walk. A non-competitive, 1-2 mile course around campus. The starting point is near the entrance to the Mitchell Recreation and Athletics Center.
- 1 p.m. – Celebration of Life service at Lamson Lodge followed by a reception, camaraderie, and light refreshments

Phil Torrens Memorial Fund
To recognize the enormous impact Coach Torrens had on so many 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########ians over the years, the university is naming the varsity track & field record boards in his honor. The goal is to raise $10,000 to replace the current boards, cover the cost of future updates, and support the cross country and track & field programs.
The unveiling and dedication of the new Phil Torrens Record Boards are scheduled for the Bob Shannon Invitational meet taking place on February 3, 2024, in Granville.

Submit a Tribute Video
We are creating a video tribute montage for Coach Torrens’ wife, Sarah, and daughter, Ellen.
It will only take a minute to shoot and submit your video, and it will be an incredibly meaningful keepsake that shares our collective love and appreciation for the positive impact Coach Torrens made on our lives.
