Campos is this year’s Laura C. Harris Scholar-in-Residence at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### University. Campos studied in the Hispanic Studies Department at the University of Houston. Her research focuses on U.S. Latino literature, specifically examining the rise and development of Central American women’s identities and subjectivity in the U.S. through their representation in literature. Campos was an Inter-University Program for Latino Research/Mellon Fellow at the University of Chicago (2019-20), a research fellow at Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Program at Arte Público Press (2016-19) and a HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science and Technology Advanced Collaboratory) scholar (2018-20) involved in the development of U.S. Latina/o Digital Humanities projects.

The talk will consist of an overview of the creative community of US Central Americans. We will analyze a network analysis that finds connections between the different artistic communities. As we explore these links, we will discuss the implications that can be made by reflecting on the different forms of expression used. Additionally, we will examine how we can reach new conclusions through the connections found within the network. Some questions that we will consider are: How are US Central Americans breaking from traditional forms of expression? What are some common themes found in these works? Who has access? How can we support the continued growth of this community?
