Student Serves on National Advisory Committee

Kristina Keidel, a sophomore at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### University from Cincinnati (45249), and the president of the college’s Active Minds chapter, a national mental health advocacy organization, was recently selected as a member of the National Active Minds Student Advisory Committee (SAC) for 2015-2016. Keidel attended the national SAC meeting on March 21 and 22 in Washington D.C.

The Active Minds Student Advisory Committee is comprised of up to 20 Active Minds chapter members from across the United States and Canada, who have shown exemplary leadership and dedication to Active Minds and mental health advocacy. The SAC plays an integral role within Active Minds by representing the student voice in national operations, programming, development efforts and public relations. The SAC fulfills its primary function of advising and assisting the Active Minds national office through monthly conference calls, regular email communications and three standing subcommittees.

Active Minds is the leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourages seeking help. Through campus-wide events and national programs, Active Minds aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health issues, and to create a comfortable environment for an open conversation about mental health issues on campuses nationwide.
