2022 Kussmaul awardee: Charles Stacy

Every year, 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### students give more than 35,000 volunteer hours to local organizations. And every year, one student is especially recognized for their contributions to “the friendly relations between Granville and the college,” with the Louis Kussmaul Friendship Award. This year’s recipient is Charles Stacy ’22. Stacy received the award from Steve Matheny, executive director of the Granville Chamber of Commerce, and Professor Nan Carney-DeBord, director of 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Athletics and Julie Tucker, associate vice president for student life in a ceremony that took place at the Granville Inn on April 20. Seniors Stella Boeckman and Becca Skolnick were also recognized for their work in the community.

Stacy was nominated by a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, where he has been an active member of their congregation since his freshmen year at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########. Stacy serves as a young adult leader for youth group activities as well as their confirmation classes, and he volunteers for the America Reads program. A global commerce major with minors in Spanish and computer science. After graduation, he will take a position as a software developer for Back2Back Ministries, an international non-profit that provides education and community support for orphans in several different countries.

Boeckman was recognized for her work with the Licking County Community Center in Granville and her work with the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Community Association, the student-led service organization at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########.

Skolnick was recognized for her work as an EMT and involvement with the organization Camp Kesem, a camp for children whose parents have cancer.
