必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### University’s Vail Series welcomes acclaimed cellist Matt Haimovitz and his brilliant musical variation on the concept of “A Moveable Feast.” He will perform five of the six Bach cello suites, with preludes by renowned contemporary composers, at various locations throughout the Eisner Center and the community.

Bach’s “Suites for Unaccompanied Cello” (1717-1723) are some of the most moving and spiritual compositions for a solo instrument in history. Each suite is a masterpiece on its own, but, in addition to the suites, overtures by Philip Glass, Du Yun, Vijay Iyer, and others are performed.

Haimovitz joins the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Symphony Orchestra to complete the cycle, and performs Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major on Thursday, Nov. 21, in Sharon Martin Hall at the Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts.

Haimovitz will perform ”A Moveable Feast” in these locations at the times given:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 12:30 p.m. -1:30 p.m.: Licking County Community Center Private Friendsgiving Concert at the Licking County Community Center (3825 Columbus Rd).

  • Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.: “Pop” Up Concert, Enjoy Bach and Popcorn in the Martha “Gay” Reese Lobby in the 2nd floor hallway of the Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts (240 West Broadway). 

  • Thursday, Nov. 21, at 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.: Bach’s Lunch (get it?!) Bring your lunch and enjoy some free Whit’s in Burton Morgan Knobel Hall (150 Ridge Road).
