Congratulations Megan Hancock!

Megan Hancock, ±Ø²©ÓéÀÖ,±È²©ÓéÀÖÍøÖ· ######### Museum¡¯s Curator of Education and Exhibitions is one of the proud recipients of the Association for Information Science and Technology¡¯s ¡± Special Interest Group (SIG) Publication of the Year Award.¡± Her article, ¡°Museums and 3D Printing: More Than a Workshop Novelty, Connecting to Collections and the Classroom,¡± appeared in Volume 42.1 in October 2015 as part of a special issue of the association¡¯s Bulletin, edited by Moriana Garcia (University of Rochester) and Tod Colegrove (University of Nevada, Reno).

In her article, Ms. Hancock explores how 3D scanning and printing technology can help provide a more meaningful museum experiences for students and other visitors. As part of the project, she created a 3-D image of one of the ±Ø²©ÓéÀÖ,±È²©ÓéÀÖÍøÖ· ######### Museum¡¯s objects, ¡°Garuda, Enemy of Serpents,¡± a 20th century painted wood Indonesian sculpture.
