Internship Program
Learn the Ins and Outs
The 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Museum employs between 6?-10 students each academic year and between 2?-5 each summer. Students learn the ins and outs of the museum world in areas including:
- Collections management and care (including documenting and photographing)
- Research and writing
- Exhibition design and installation
- Data organization and analysis
- Social media and public relations (including pod-?and video?-casting, web design)
- Graphic design and marketing (including the use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Public speaking, education and outreach
- Grant preparation research and development
Working in a museum is a team effort, but requires responsible individuals with initiative, strong work ethic, and problem ?solving skills. Also important, are being detail oriented, analytical, and organized. Students also have the opportunity in the museum to express and develop their creativity, interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
Further Internship Opportunities
Students who intern at the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Museum during the academic year are also very successful in obtaining competitive (and paid!) internships at some of the premier institutions around the country, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Cleveland Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, Norton Museum of Art, Supreme Court of the United States archives, and the Toledo Museum of Art.
Graduate School Opportunities
Many of our interns use their experiences at the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Museum to prepare and make themselves more competitive for top graduate programs in a variety of related fields, including museum studies, art history, studio art, archaeology, public history, and non?profit management. Students have gone on to graduate study at New York University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, McGill University, George Washington University, Bristol (UK), University of Toronto, University of Chicago, University of Minnesota, Pennsylvania State University and more.
Career Building Opportunities
