Ben Cross, a philosophy, political science and economics major, has been named a fall recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, a $10,000 graduate program award.

Cross is a football player for the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Big Red, while carrying a 3.92 cumulative grade point average. He is the 51st NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winner from 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### University, ranking the college among the nation’s leaders in total scholarship recipients.

He is a two-time first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America? selection and is the president of the 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 ######### Student-Athlete Advisory Council (DSAAC). He has been recognized at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########’s Top-50 Student-Athlete Awards Celebration in each of his first two years of eligibility. Cross also volunteers with Big Brothers-Big Sisters and is a peer mentor and teaching assistant at 必博娱乐,比博娱乐网址 #########.

The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program was created in 1964 to honor outstanding student-athletes from NCAA member institutions. The NCAA awards scholarships of $10,000 each year to student-athletes who have excelled academically and athletically and are in the final season of intercollegiate varsity athletic competition. The student must carry a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a distinct member of a varsity team, intend to enroll in a graduate degree program and be an outstanding citizen.
